Bahama Mama Cocktail

JUMP TO RECIPE

The Bahama Mama cocktail is a drink built with coconut rum, dark rum, coffee liqueur, pineapple juice, and lemon juice.

Bahama Mama Cocktail Info

This rum-forward cocktail is often lumped in the category of vacation beverages. The vacation category is, of course, drinks like the Tequila Sunrise and the Pina Colada. The simplified version of this drink that you'll find at many beach resorts isn't very different from these two drinks in terms of ingredients, flavor, and consistency!

The real secret to this classic midcentury recipe is coffee liqueur like kahlúa. This liqueur reduces the sweetness of the fruit and adds earthy flavor tones. This ingredient is often overlooked, but it transforms this drink from a simple fruit punch into a complex and still great tropical cocktail.
