The Devil's Margarita cocktail is a drink built with tequila, lime juice, sugar syrup, and red wine!
Devil's Margarita Cocktail Info
A Margarita that is well made is pure joy, and most people know that. The perfect combination of tart lime, earthy tequila, and sweetener (usually orange liqueur) makes for a perfect homerun. The Devil's Margarita, a twist on the classic we all know, is an excellent choice if you want a more sinful cocktail.
The twist here is the top floated red wine! Ideally, a medium-bodied fruity wine. It adds depth and color to the drink. Another red wine floated drink you might like is The New York Sour, a Whiskey Sour topped with red wine.
This recipe calls for a blanco Tequila. Unaged blanco tequila has citrus and pepper notes and is free from the oaky vanilla or caramel flavors you usually find in aged yellow tequila. A Margarita is only as good as the fresh lime juice pressed when making it. So make sure it's fresh lime you use, not the extract. To make this drink more flavorful, use a simple syrup as the sweetener. If you want to experiment, you can try different flavored syrups.
