The Millionaire cocktail is a drink built with bourbon whiskey, grand Marnier liqueur, absinthe, grenadine, lemon juice, and egg white!
Millionaire Cocktail Info
The Millionaire is a classic sour created during Prohibition.
The Millionaire features bourbon whiskey and Grand Marnier, a French orange liqueur made from cognac, grenadine, lemon juice, and absinthe.
This drink, as mentioned, calls for lemon juice, and my number one tip is always to use fresh lemon juice.
The same goes for grenadine. Home-made grenadine is always better than store-bought grenadine. Although homemade means more work, I promise you; it is worth making if you have the time.
Pastis is an alternative to absinthe if you are unable to find absinthe. Pastis liqueur contains star anise, which gives it its distinctive licorice taste similar to absinthe.
Some people are scared of raw egg white in drinks; if you are one of these people, you do not have to use them. It, however, gives the drink a silky texture, keeping its rich and luxurious theme.
