Tequila Mockingbird Cocktail Info
You can find many recipes online for this drink. Some vary wildly and contain everything from curacao to crème de menthe.
Greg Seider is the creator of this recipe. He is a New York bartender and author of " Alchemy In a Glass." This Tequila Mockingbird variation combines the earthy taste of tequila and the refreshing, hydrating power of watermelon.
It's not often that watermelon is used in cocktails. Too much can result in a loss of flavor due to dilution. It's delicious when spirit and watermelon are combined with sweetener and citrus. Just say it out loud, it even sounds delicious without really knowing if it is.
This drink doesn't need a blender. A simple muddler will do the trick. For a sweet, tangy kick, you can add jalapeno when muddling the melon. Next, add the liquid ingredients: blanco or silver tequila, fresh lime juice, and agave syrup. To remove any pulp, fine-strain the contents into a glass. You will now have a bright, fragrant cocktail called the tequila mockingbird!
